mouth of the dragon

Aaaand yet another beach entry. Boy am I suffering at Bible college or what.

After the museum we headed to the mouth of the dragon. Okinawa is shaped like a dragon, and the very southern tip of Okinawa is the dragon's mouth.

There were all these sweet tide pools with all kinds of weird thingies in them. If you look close you can see its little star babies.

Jermy picked it up.

So everything's going great at the tide pools, until we go further out and start convincing Doug to swim out into the ocean because it looks pretty funny. Go, Doug, go!

Well, the rip tide caught him and the more he was trying to swim back in the further he was getting sucked out. Pastor Tom started yelling for people to get ropes while Aaron went in after him. PT was freaking out because he spent some time in Samoa, and knew that when people get pulled out far enough a crowd gathers on the shore just waiting for that person to die and be washed ashore with the next tide. Thankfully Doug wasn't that far out and he and Aaron were able to grab a hold of some coral and get back to shore.

Poor Dougie. Doug, if you are reading this, don't almost ruin our semester like that again! Crazy fellow quarter-Jap.
